dishonored is a 2012 action game made by arkane studios. in the original game you are playing as corvo attano. corvo is the empresses bodyguard, in the opening of the game you are arriving back from trying to get help with the ongoing plague going on, you meet back up with the empress and watch her get assassinated and her daughter, emily, kidnapped. of course youre framed for this crime and you must clear your name somehow. theres a chaos system in game so basically low chaos is killing the least amount of people possible and high chaos is just kinda saying fuck it and killing everyone. dishonored is set in the fictional city of dunwall during the vauge 1800-1900s. dunwall is loosely based on london and edinbrugh. youre set to be executed but escape prison with the help of a group of people who call themselves the loyalists. when you escape and get back to where the loyalists are staying you go to sleep and wake up in the void. i really like the void it seems so very peaceful in this game. in the void youre met with the outsider, this emo guy with black eyes will give you special powers and a cool hand tattoo (known in game as "the outsiders mark") very few people have this mark. when you wake up for real you have your first offical mission as assasin corvo (or just Guy corvo if youre doing a no kill run.) i wont describe the whole game because that might be a bit boring but i do really reccomend it. it usually goes on sale on steam for a real good price but even off sale its worth it. i have it for every platform its been released on. my introduction to this game was my sisters ex boyfriend, he played it on my xbox when he was at my house and for months after they broke up i played it thru his xbox live account until he changed the password and kicked me out.
i also very much enjoy the dlc for dishonored (the knife of dunwall and the brigmore witches not dunwall city trials i do not hate myself that much yet.). in the dlc you play as the assassin, daud, who killed the empress. daud is so much fun to play and his story is so perfect to me. i love giving daud a redemption arc i like the praise from the outsider :3 daud is accomppanied by billie lurk, she pops in and out i really like her too. for some reason killing the empress really fucks with dauds head, he's killed all sorts of people in the past but she was different. in the two dlcs you gotta figure out the mystery behind this delilah figure. delilah is an evil witch, shes out to overtake the throne and daud plans to stop her. dauds character is so unmatched i love him so much. his character is so complex, i think i would even say i prefer the dlc to the main games but im actually not sure...
dishonored death of the outsider came out in 2017, it's a dlc but sold as a stand alone game and its sooooo good. you play as billie lurk/meagen foster. it starts with her trying to find daud so they can kill the black eyed basterd the outsider. i love everything about this dlc minus the fact for some reason steam wont give me the achievment for doing all the contracts even tho ive completed all of them in 2 playthroughs idk maybe i fucked up twice i shall have to try again i need that 100% but i have replayed this so many times, the story is so good :3 yayyy! plz play dishonored
dishonored 2 came out in 2016, a year after i got into the original game but i could not play it until like 2020 when i got a laptop that could actually run the game. i really enjoy this game. it follows the story from the first one, set 15 years later. lady emily is now empress and there is a serial killer known as the crown killer on the loose. the crown killer has been eliminating the enemies of the crown leading everyone to believe that corvo is behind the killings. we open on the anniversary of the assassination of empress jessamine kaldwin and the ceremony is crashed by the witch delilah from the dishonored dlc. she is claiming to be the true heir to the throne and kills all of the guards, we then get the option to play as corvo or emily and whoever you dont pick gets turned to stone by delilah. i always play as corvo instead of emily, i just have such an attachment to him. playing as emily is fun too tho, i've done a few playthroughs as her (she's really good for a no powers run shes lighter so can jump higher and make less noise.) i played this on steam and i will say i agree with some negative reviews when they complain about performance issues. i thought for a while those issues were on me (even tho i meet the requirements for the game.) i think the dlc/side game death of the outsider runs better than the main game. even with these complaints i still replay this often am trying to 100% it. the environment is absolutely beautiful here. they upped the smartness of the npcs compared to the original however the corny (said with love) diolouge is still there when you're overhearing guards conversations. the reveal with meagen foster at the end genuinely made me cry, they kept us daud lovers Fed. this game also confirms everyones suspicions from the first game about emily being corvos daughter.
